Conductometer
Product Code : JLI-PLE-11245
Quick Answer: The Conductometer demonstrates the relative thermal conductivity of brass, copper, nickel, aluminium and iron, with a rod of each metal spaced radially on a brass hub and a wax cavity at each rod end.
Last updated: 18 October 2026
Key Features
Five metal rods: brass, copper, nickel, aluminium and iron.
Rods equally spaced radially around a brass hub.
Cavity at the outer end of each rod holds paraffin wax.
Wooden handle for holding the hub over a flame.

How It Is Used
Wax is placed in each cavity and the hub is held over a flame by the handle. The wax melts first on the rod that conducts heat fastest and last on the poorest conductor, so the metals can be ranked.
