Van De Graaff Generator With Accessory Kit
Product Code : JLI-PLE-10745
Quick Answer: The Van De Graaff Generator With Accessory Kit is a mains-driven electrostatic generator with a 220 mm dome on an acrylic pillar, producing 200,000 – 400,000 volts and sparks up to about 50 mm. It works with 100 mm conducting spheres and has a dust cover.

Key Features
- Conducting dome on an acrylic pillar, charged by a rubber belt.
- Belt driven by an electric motor concealed in the metal base, run from the mains through a three-wire cable.
- Charge made by friction between the belt and two rollers, one polythene and one acrylic, and collected by a metal gauze.
- 4 mm base socket takes a conducting sphere on a cranked rod, or a wire to a separate sphere on an acrylic rod.
- Dust cover provided.

How It Is Used
Once switched on, the belt carries charge up to the dome, building a high potential for electrostatic demonstrations such as sparks to a nearby conducting sphere. The second sphere can sit in the base socket or stand separately on its insulating rod, connected by a wire.
